Boulder’s rail moment is getting closer! Attend the Front Range Passenger Rail Town Hall at the East Boulder Recreation Center at 6 pm on April 15 to hear directly from project leaders, ask questions, provide your input, and make sure Boulder’s priorities shape one of the most consequential transportation decisions our region will make.
The proposed intercity rail service would connect Boulder to Denver, Longmont, Fort Collins, and communities along the entire Front Range. A potential November ballot measure on a sales tax increase to fund the route could hinge on the public engagement happening at town halls like the one in Boulder this spring. Before the town hall, you can do something fun right now: the Front Range Passenger Rail District has launched a “Name the Train” contest. Four finalists are on the table: Front Range Express Destinations (FRED), Colorado Connector (CoCo), Colorado Ranger, and RangeLink. These options were chosen from roughly 100 submitted names. Cast your vote at ridethefrontrange.com/namethetrain. Two voters chosen at random will win tickets on the inaugural train ride in 2029.
The April 15 town hall is one of three events being hosted by Commuting Solutions in the northwest metro region. These meetings will take place in Westminster, Boulder, and Longmont:
