Boulder showed up in record numbers this year. On Wednesday, June 24, 1,047 riders rolled through the Boulder Chamber parking lot, which was transformed into a breakfast super station on Bike to Work Day. It was the biggest turnout we’ve ever had, and a fitting finale to a month packed with community energy around walking, bicycling, and rolling.

Breakfast Station Draws a Crowd (and 20 Partners)
BCTC staff were up early alongside 20 community partners to host our Bike to Work Day breakfast station, which opened at 6:30 am. Riders fueled up on burritos from Community Table Kitchen, coffee from Ozo, and doughnuts from Voodoo Doughnut before heading into their day.
The lot was buzzing with activity:
- Boulder Police Department gave away more than 40 U-locks in the first 45 minutes alone
- The City of Boulder Transportation and Mobility Department previewed its proposed wayfinding signage for the city’s bikeways and multi-use path network
- Colorado CarShare showed off one of the electric vehicles that now comprise the majority of its fleet
- Lime and Via Mobility Services connected riders with more ways to get around town
- Epic Mountain Gear made on-the-spot adjustments for more than 40 cyclists
- Stowe Trunks displayed its lockable on-bike storage systems
- Visit Boulder’s classic photo-booth VW bus, “Delilah,” gave friends a spot for instant group pics

Riders and their pets also had plenty of ways to recharge, with health and wellness offerings from Hydrate IV Lounge, Healthy Hound Fitness, RedPoint Center, and Beemlight Sauna, plus information from TGTHR on their work with local youth, giveaways from Corden Pharma, and a look at EcoLawnCare’s electric robotic mowers. Nude Foods Market and HopLark Teas kept the treats coming for anyone still hungry after breakfast.

A big thanks to our Boulder Chamber ambassadors and colleagues who us helped pull off a great morning. Click here to view our full Bike to Work Day photo album!

Boulder Junction Businesses Join the Fun
Our Boulder Junction neighborhood liaison, Will Shepherd, helped facilitate several Bike to Work Day breakfast stations, hosted by these businesses:
- Boulder Nordic celebrated their new cycling & skiing store location with family, neighbors, and homemade all-natural burritos!
- S’Park Apartments offered their popular adopt-a-duck riding buddy for a second year, and we saw dozens of happy ducks enjoying a handlebar view of the morning’s events.
- Rule4 once again provided their top-notch offerings with glow-in-the-dark frisbees, fun camping supplies, iced tea, and loads of warm breakfast wraps to more than 80 happy recipients.
- Crepe Therapy offered their distinctive café items with lavender lemonade to complement avocado smoothie offerings to hundreds of attendees for a healthy alternative to sweets commonly offered at the breakfast stations.
- Mike’s Bikes offered bike check-ups and the always-popular mini energy waffles with more than 250 station visitors between 6:45 am and 9:15 am.
- HotWorx made their BTWD debut with a robust turnout just across 30th Street from the large Google station. Over 100 folks were interested and 60 signed up for a free class! HotWorx has 12 different virtually instructed classes, offered 24 hours a day in personal infrared sauna studios. Bound & HOP bus stops are just outside the studio entrance.

Toasting the Turnout at Happy Hour
At the other end of the work day, the celebration continued with a happy hour at Zeal Restaurant. The happy hour offered a relaxed chance for friends and fellow commuters to catch up, talk transportation, and celebrate a record-setting day.
Two Boulder Businesses Take the Business Challenge
Boulder businesses brought serious cycling spirit to this year’s regional Way to Go Bike to Work Day Business Challenge, with two local winners:
- Electra (Gunbarrel) took the Medium Company category. Company coordinator Kat Hearty credited a team that’s genuinely passionate about cycling, sustainability, and finding thoughtful ways to commute.
- La Sportiva claimed the Small Business category for the second year running, reinforcing its commitment to active transportation.
In total, 42 Boulder-based businesses signed up for this year’s challenge, out of 232 across the Front Range.

The Month Before the Big Day
Throughout June, BCTC was busy with more than just Bike to Work Day: we staffed a B360 bike ride rest stop in the first weekend of the month, led the Walk 180 and Walk 360 events with the city’s Boulder Walks team, helped businesses gear up for the Bike to Work Day Business Challenge, got individuals and teams registered, lined up breakfast stations, and stocked them with supplies.
BCTC and the WayToGo team also turned out for the Boulder Bike Show on June 17, where 150 attendees admired everything from commuter and classic builds to a decorated tall-tandem “Frankenbike,” picked up bike maps, and got the nudge to register for Bike to Work Day.
Onward to 50
With 2026 in the books, the countdown is already on: just 11 months until Boulder’s 50th Bike to Work Day celebration! See you out there next June.
