Boulder County seeks your help to shape its first Strategic Transit Plan. Over the next 18 months, Boulder County planners and community members will collaborate to set a countywide vision for transit – which includes our local and regional buses, on-demand services like Ride Free Lafayette, and future Northwest Rail – and explore what it will take to make that vision a reality.
From new transit routes that connect people to each other to buses that come more often and more flexible services for more kinds of trips, the transit plan coordinators want to think big about what Boulder County needs most.
To help shape the plan, Boulder County is setting up two Community Advisory Committees, with one conducted in English and one in Spanish. Each committee will meet six times between October 2025 and November 2026. Meetings will be a combination of in-person and virtual and will last approximately 90 minutes, with some review of materials between meetings.
Each committee will have approximately 15 members who will learn more about Boulder County’s current transit services, help identify what’s needed in the future, and work with the planning team to advise on priorities for Boulder County communities. The team seeks committee members who:
- Live and/or work in Boulder County and have an interest in or curiosity about transit.
- Are willing to understand different perspectives and want to help shape the future of Boulder County.
- Represent all aspects of the county’s diversity, including race and ethnicity, gender, age, and ability.
To apply, please complete an online application by Friday, Sept. 19, 2025. The questions ask for information that will help us ensure the committees represent the many perspectives across our county. Committee members will receive compensation for their time, food at the in-person meetings, translation and interpretation services, and support for transportation and childcare.
