The section of Baseline Road between 29th Street and Foothills Parkway has now been repaved, and more improvements are on the way. Phase 1 of the Baseline Road Transportation Safety Project continues through October, with the installation of new protected bike lanes, widened buffers for bicyclists, improved crosswalks, and narrowed vehicle lanes that conform to standard widths. Additional protections and improvements will be made in Phase 2 over the next few years, funded by a federal grant. All the improvements will create safer conditions for everyone traveling on Baseline while making it easier to access places along the route.
