Our winter Connect Boulder luncheon on Thursday, November 14, attracted record attendance (standing room only)!
Presenters focused on transit, from state-level oversight of the Regional Transportation District (RTD) and policies pertaining to transit-oriented development, to the construction of new bus rapid transit lanes on CO 119 and transit access to Eldora Mountain Ski Resort.
Representative Meg Froelich gave a spirited sneak preview of how the state legislature is moving forward with newly adopted transit policies in the face of potential changes in federal funding for public transit and multi-modal transportation. Three members of the CO 119 safety, mobility and bikeway project team – Adnana Murtic of CDOT, Brian Thye of RTD and Alexandra Phillips of Boulder County – provided insights into the construction happening now on the Diagonal Highway. Following the CO 119 update, Eldora Sustainability Director Hunter Wright discussed how Boulder’s “backyard” ski mountain has adopted new parking and transit policies to encourage skiers and snowboarders to carpool and catch the NB bus to get preferential drop-off access right at the base of the mountain.
At the end of the meeting, we gave away two pairs of weekday Eldora lift tickets to two enthusiastic attendees! Our final Connect Boulder meeting of the year provided essential information for Boulder Chamber members and guests, with great talks and time for conversation with the presenters.
