The Regional Transportation District (RTD) is undertaking a significant 18-month structural improvement project at the Table Mesa Park-n-Ride, with work beginning Monday, March 23. The project involves repairs to the front stair tower on the north side of the parking structure, steel repairs to the awning covering the plaza, roofing replacement, and structural concrete repairs in isolated areas of the parking garage.
Because this affects how passengers board and alight from buses, including the popular Flatiron Flyer (FF) and Airport (AB) routes, we’ve put together this comprehensive guide to help riders understand exactly what’s changing and how to navigate the facility during construction.

How to Navigate the Facility
The biggest change is that the plaza on the north side of the facility, the area facing Table Mesa Drive, will be under construction. The two bus gates on that side (B and C) will be closed. Here is how travel will work for different types of riders:
Departing on AB or FF routes (outbound to Denver International Airport, stops along Highway 36, Union Station) – Boarding the bus to head east
- Eastbound travelers must board at Gate A, located at the south ramp boarding plaza on the south side of US 36.
- To reach Gate A from the parking garage: take the stairs or elevator to Level 4 of the garage, then walk across the pedestrian bridge over US 36.
- Signage will be posted throughout the garage directing customers to Gate A during construction.
Arriving via FF or AB routes (inbound) – Getting off the bus at Table Mesa
- Buses will drop off passengers at the bus stop along Table Mesa Drive, directly across from the Park-n-Ride, near the traffic light.
- This is Gate E on the north side of Table Mesa Drive. Watch for signage directing you.
- From there you can cross Table Mesa Drive and access the parking garage or connect to your destination on foot.
Driving to the Park-n-Ride – Parking and catching your bus
- The parking garage remains open throughout the project. Drive in as usual.
- Note that some sections of the garage, including the north stairway, will be inaccessible at various points during the project.
- To board your bus, take the stairs or elevator to Level 4 and walk across the pedestrian bridge to the south ramp boarding plaza (Gate A) for eastbound service.
- Allow extra time for this longer walk. It adds a few minutes to your pre-boarding routine.
- Westbound travelers returning to the Park-n-Ride will alight at Gate E on Table Mesa Drive (directly across from the facility at the traffic light), then cross and access the garage.
Riders with accessibility needs – ADA and mobility considerations
- An elevator to Level 4 is available to reach the pedestrian bridge over US 36. This is the primary accessible route to Gate A.
- Important: If the elevator is out of service, the bridge route becomes inaccessible to those who cannot use stairs. RTD should be contacted directly (see Resources below) to inquire about contingency plans for elevator outages.

RTD will soon add a large banner across the construction fencing (pictured) announcing that the garage remains open. They will also place additional directional signage in the parking garage to better orient customers to the elevator tower.

- Will parking be available during the construction?
- Yes. The parking garage will remain open and accessible throughout the project. Some interior areas, including the north stairway, will be temporarily closed at various stages, but the garage as a whole is available to customers.
- Are the temporary boarding areas covered from sun and snow?
- The south ramp boarding plaza (Gate A) may not offer the same level of weather protection as the original covered plaza. We recommend checking current RTD service alerts for any updates on shelter provisions, and planning accordingly.
- What if the elevator is out of service?
- The elevator to Level 4 is the primary route to the pedestrian bridge and Gate A. RTD has not publicly detailed backup plans for elevator outages at this time. We encourage riders with mobility concerns to contact RTD directly for the most up-to-date information and to report elevator outages promptly.
- Is this all happening at once, or will the construction be phased?
- RTD has identified several components: stair tower repairs, awning steel work, roofing, and concrete repairs in isolated garage locations. RTD has not released a detailed public phasing schedule. - The RTD map doesn’t have a north arrow. Which direction is which?
- The Table Mesa Park-n-Ride is oriented roughly parallel to US 36. The “north” side of the facility is the side facing Table Mesa Drive. This is where Gates B and C (closed as of March 23) are located, and where the bus stop for arriving passengers is across the street. The “south” side is across US 36, where the south ramp boarding plaza (Gate A) is located for departing eastbound passengers.
- Will parking be available during the construction?
