Big thanks to the nearly 700 people who came out on Wednesday, June 28th, to visit the BTC Bike To Work Day breakfast superstation at the Boulder Chamber and the Bike Home Happy Hour at Zeal Restaurant.
Riders of all ages filled the Chamber parking lot in the morning, enjoying burritos and coffee, learning about Lime scooters, chatting with staff from Representative Joe Neguse’s office, getting the scoop on the Northwest Rail Peak Service Study (NWR PSS) from RTD, checking out Colorado CarShare and VeloFix, posing in the Visit Boulder photo booth bus, and building models of their ideal commute.
Later in the day, the BTC/Chamber team greeted riders as they arrived at Boulder Junction for the Bike Home Happy Hour. Along with partners RTD, the City of Boulder, BCycle, Lime, and Community Cycles, we set up alongside the Pearl Parkway woonerf in front of Zeal Restaurant, which provided sliders, nachos and beverages for the party. Mayor Aaron Brockett, City Council Members Rachel Friend, and Tara Winer, and RTD Board Member Lynn Guissinger joined city staff members, Boulder Junction employees and residents, and bicyclists from around the area in celebration of active transportation and a gorgeous Boulder afternoon.
A big thanks to the Way to Go Team at DRCOG for their great organization and promotion of BTWD throughout the Boulder-Denver region!
For BTC, the whole day was a joyride!
