The Sundance Film Festival is coming to Boulder January 21 through 31, 2027!
With more than 100,000 people expected to visit Boulder throughout the 10-day festival, planning for how to help everyone get to and around the city safely, efficiently, and comfortably is a big focus of the preparations underway now. Together with the Sundance Institute, the City of Boulder, RTD, and other regional partners, Boulder Chamber Transportation Connections is championing a transit-first approach for Sundance Film Festival attendees, volunteers, and staff.
The official Sundance Film Festival venues map illustrates how accessible the festival will be by bus, for visitors and locals alike. Boulder’s HOP circulator bus will run fare-free, providing a convenient way for festivalgoers to reach many of the venues, and a new RTD route is in development to transport participants to Chautauqua Park and the newly winterized historic Chautauqua Auditorium.
The City of Boulder has launched a website dedicated to Sundance Film Festival transportation information and resources. This site will be updated with the latest information as it develops in partnership with festival organizers and regional partners. Together with the city’s Sundance Film Festival home page, the transportation resources site will help festivalgoers plan their stay and trips.
Learn more about how the City of Boulder and the Sundance Institute are working together on a transit-first approach and planning for transportation efficiency, accessibility, and ease throughout the festival at our upcoming Connect Boulder fall luncheon on Thursday, September 24, from 11:30 am to 1 pm at the Boulder Chamber. Registration is open now – reserve your spot and enjoy a complimentary lunch, with time for networking with the City of Boulder’s Director of Strategic Partnerships, Cris Jones, and a special guest from the Sundance Institute.
